What is the status of Riphah International University?

Riphah International University (RIU) is established under Government of Pakistan’s Ordinance No. LXXVI of 2002 dated October 16, 2002. It awards chartered degrees under the Federal Government Charter vide Ordinance I-XXVI of 2002. The Riphah International University is recognized by Higher Education Commission.  Recently HEC categorized RIU in Category ‘A’.

When admissions are open?

Admissions to various degree programs are open twice a year. Admission is advertised in the leading national newspapers. The merit list for admission is prepared on the basis of academic record, a written test and an interview . There are two semesters in an academic year Fall and Spring; each of 18 weeks duration:
Fall Semester                      (Aug/Sep – January)
Spring Semester                  (Jan/Feb – June)
The Summer Semester of 9 weeks duration is organized for make-up classes for a limited number of courses.

Does SIMS accept transfer-students from other universities or institute?

Yes it does.  Those who have taken courses at other accredited colleges and universities can apply for admission as transfer students.  Such students can apply for admission for any semester.  All courses with a B grade or better that are comparable to those offered at SIMS, will be considered for transfer.  Any grades earned on the courses that are transferred are not included in the computation of the cumulative grade point average.

Do international universities accept transfer of credit from SIMS/RIU?

Yes, Riphah International University is recognized through out the world. Overseas universities generally accept credits from all Pakistani universities that are recognized by the HEC.  The list of all HEC-recognized universities is available here.

 
 

How much financial assistance is available to those who are admitted?

SIMS has a tradition to encourage merit through awarding stipends and scholarships to brilliant students. Financial assistance is also provided to a number of students who cannot afford such education due to lack of financial resources. To be considered for a need-based award, please fill the SAN Trust Application form for Financial Assistance along with your Application for Admission.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED

1. Matric Certificate,Intermediate Certificate & Graduation Certificate (If applicable).

2. Twelve recent photographs.

3. Marks Sheet of last examination/degree.

4. Migration certificate, issued by the University.

A Copy of student’s I.D. card alongwith father'’s I.D. card (In case the student is less than 18 years of age) (Duly attested.
